Everything I'd Hoped For . . . [open]

Carson looked down at the hand outstretched to him, it's meaning much more to him than a simple agreement between to reciprocates. He knew that once he shook his cold hand he would never be able to turn back. Once they finished their journey he'd no longer be who he was now, he could see that much. Together they would grow and find the lost people in Northbell and teach those who had committed such heinous crimes. It was all a little overwhelming, but he was the one to offer his assistance and to back out would mean he came here for nothing then a simple dream. He'd lose a lot of which he could have gained by just simply shaking his hand. He looked up at him with a warm and genuine smile before grabbing hold of the hand. He wasn't at all surprised by the difference between them, even their hands were different. Carson's was frail and soft with only slight scars to show his work. Alexander's on the other hand was firm and he could feel the stories this hand could tell by how callused and rigid it felt. But it was a nice kind of feeling and he wouldn't admit but, it was warm too. "I won't stop 'til we do." He added with a nod. He let out a quiet sigh before releasing the hand and turning back to the main reason he came out here. He did not have an actual reason and had made up a lie so that he didn't seem weird. His blue gaze rose to the black canvas that they called the sky. White speckles dotted the sky in such a way that it was hard to believe that humans hadn't explored their depths yet. Carson was a spectacular star gazer; he could point out any constellation, planet, or satellite in the sky and tell you all you ever wanted to know or ever will know. He loved the thought of deep space and could only dream of what it was actually like or if they were alone in this big universe. He paused, his face lowering to catch a statement that made him flustered and shy once again, the bold and daring boy from just moment ago, gone in and instance. "Me? S-stay with you? What about your sisters and other family members?" He questioned, both please and baffled by the sudden suggestion. He had never had a roommate before aside from his brother and that was oh so long ago. Carson seemed to be quivering slightly but he was more excited and eager than anything. "I'd love to." He added quietly, a smile spreading across his lips. You live on your own? He turned around and nodded, his hands suddenly entangling themselves with the bottom hem of his grey sweater. " I've always lived alone if you haven't guessed. I moved out of my parent's house two years ago. My brother offered to come with me but he was already enrolled in college and of couse I wasn't about to hinder his education." He explained.

Alexander grinned at the mention of his family. He really loved them and loved talking about them. "Well then lucky for you my place is big enough to accommodate two families. But we all do live apart from each other. So it is just me for now." It had struck him that Carson hadn't even asked what he job was but he would answer honestly when the question was presented. He wasn't ashamed to be a fashion designer but proud of his work. It took a lot more then you think to be as good as he was.
His eyes slid to the younger one, watching him watching the stars. They were quiet dazzling and far off, giving others hopes and dreams in places they someday wished to travel or find in themselves. The stormy cells turned their gaze upward with small hope that every one of his blood members were looking at the same stars.
"Well then, Carson. Shall we start our tour?" He asked suddenly, spinning towards him with his hands clapping. After all he needed to know the city a lot better then he did now if he was going to find Louise. He claimed to know this town so Alexander was placing himself in Carson's hands till he himself could be of use. Hopefully with getting to know the layout he could have some idea as to where they might be hiding instead of searching places blindly on rumors like he had been so far.
When he first came to Northbell City Alexander had underestimated it's size greatly and kept getting lost the first week. It took him a while to remember the general area of his apartment. But he was getting the hang of it. Just some help would go a long way for sure.

He hummed quietly with contempt as he bought about living with someone else for a change. It was a little too stranger for his liking but Carson had already grown to harbor a fondness for his icy male. And it wasn't like it was for no reason. He was helping to resolve the case of the murders of which he had run into multiple times only escaping by the skin of teeth. They had tried to cut into him, experiment on him and other terrible things. He bore a few scars even to show off for when the next time he faces off with them. But, this time he wouldn't be alone. He glanced at Alexander and let his mind wander about with ideas and funny experiences that may or may not happen. The moment when hey found his sister and they were able to bring her back. Albeit one thought kept resurrecting and making itself known within his head. What if when they found her, she couldn't come back? It certainly wasn't an outcome to rule out. Although sad, it was true that was what may have happened or will happen. What would happen then? Would Alexander change his mind, stricken with grief and go back on his promise to be his friend. Perhaps kick him out to mourn alone. The thought terrified him and he quickly hushed himself and consoled himself to calm down. He quickly snapped to attention as his companion mentioned the tour and he quietly chastised himself for getting caught up in his head. He had a habit of doing that... "Yeah sure!" He paused, reaching into his pocket to pull out an old android phone that kept on him to keep in touch with his mother as well as use for emergencies. He could literally count on his fingers how many contacts he had. He opened up the map and began to type in the address of Northbell until the sky view of the city was shown on the screen. He pointed to a small spot and dropped a small pin. "This is where we are currently. Close by is the park, just South of here as well as the hospital." He paused to point in the directions and gestured to the screen when it showed the Hospital. "The prison is way South near the very edge of town. Although, I wouldn't to there unless you're looking for trouble. The bar and the café are farther West past where we met. You can also find the mall and the main subway train there too." He paused to close his eyes as a cold wind blasted him from the side and he forced himself not to squeak or whimper. "If your ever lost I'd consult one of the stores in town, they usually have maps strewn about to look from." He explained. He didn't need a map anymore and found it easy to navigate through the streets. "So what did you want to do now?" He questioned curiously.

His eyebrows rose as he flipped out a cell phone. He wasn't expecting him to have a phone to be honest since it seemed as if he had no one to call up for chats or hang outs or anything. Alexander guessed he would have to change that. With his eyes scanning the map, he made mental notes of everything. If there was a prison it might have been the best place to start in all honesty but not tonight. With making a new friend and comrade in his journey he didn't want their time together to be all business. Besides he would have to do some thinking about how to investigate and such.
"Hungry at all?" He asked, starting to feel peckish himself. The icy demon was not going to question as to why they were no longer going to leave the inner city limits and in fact he had forgotten what with the excitement of the search coming to a close end now that someone who knew what he would be dealing with was willing to help no matter the circumstances. So needless to say he was now thinking of where to get a bite to eat next. Surely The little amplifier knew of some decent of not delicious places to get a good meal. It would be refreshing too to chat with someone and not try to impress them as he had been with any woman that caught his eye.
He did want to get to know more about his future roommate so what better way then over a nice cold, er, hot meal? So far all he knew what he lived alone, has an older brother, and has powers that he himself had never heard of. All Carson knew of Alexander was pretty much the same. It would do them some good to know more so if Carson wanted to help but then stay then it would save them some trouble.
"Besides, I would like to get to know more about the great Carson Rocheforth." He insisted, his murky eyes playfully gazing at the other.

He put the phone away into his back pocket and turned his head to hear him ask if he was hungry. Hungry? He looked down at his slim form, his self-esteem chastising him for not bring more of a male. He looked like an anorexic chick rather than a boy. He frowned at himself and tried to shake off his feeling of unease. He shook his head and looked back at Alexander, "I guess..." Carson never had a large appetite and so when he went out he only ended up taking home his entire meal since he couldn't finish it all. He didn't mind cooking at home since he was a pretty practiced chef himself. He knew what dishes were best depending on the time of day and year. He took another look at the sky, his cold blue eyes warming beneath the blanket of speckled skies. "I know a small sandwich shop around here. They're a pretty small business and if you are really serious about going up against the cult, then it'll be less likely that we'd be spotted there." He suggested, his feet beginning to walk through the grass as he made his way back to the sidewalk. He waited patiently for his companion and suddenly realized he was still holding up his powers on him. He looked at Alexander, a question resting on his tongue. Did he want to have his powers back? Did he want to feel like he was sweating even in this rather chilly weather. "And uh, I never mentioned this, but you never inquired about my powers. I'm not sure if you know that you aren't able to use your powers which will explain why you aren't feeling as you normally do." He said tucking his hands into his pockets and continuing to walk towards the small shop. "I can take it down if you want..." He only wanted him to feel comfortable and the fact that he hadn't mention it made him believe that he was okay with it. But he may not even know that he could do what you does.

He moved closer to where Carson halted his steps and bent at the waist, leaning in closer to the fellow male and whispered with great joy. "If you could keep doing it that would be great," he straightening back out as he finished, hands going up behind his head with his fingers locking into each other. "No one here would understand how hot I was getting before you came along," Alexander added as he thought about how a sandwich sounded. In all honesty, it sounded amazing since it also meant there would be cold sandwiches instead of risking all hot foods.
It was strange how his kind had to mostly live off of cold climate, food, settings, and pretty much anything. He wondered how Louise got around without turning into a puddle on the ground. Then again these days girls could wear very little and it was normal. Even on 'cold' nights like this girls were running around in little dresses and skirts to attract wanted and unwanted attention. He knew there was no way they were all Cryomancers so he figured they were just a few IQ points shorter then what he would have wanted.
"Lead the way to this sandwich shop you speak of," he bellowed out merrily, hearing the low grumble in his stomach telling him to hurry it up. Alexander let a chuckle escape at the noise, wondering if Carson heard it at all. He was a little concerned for his figure being as skinny as he was. After all they had collided early so Alexander got a pretty good idea as to how much, or little, he actually ate. But being the way he was raised, he would never ask about it on the first day they had met. He didn't want to come off as rude and then loose the only help he had right now. Maybe when they were more established as friends he would poke fun at him but for now, he kept his mouth shut about it.
Another blast of cold air ripped through the streets as the night grew frigid but to him it all felt so much better then how he was about an hour or so ago. This trick of Carson's was amazing and he knew it would be incredibly helpful to taking on this cult and finding his sister. They needed to have a long talk to know just what each other were capable of.
He glanced over at the shorter teen and asked as they moved, "How late can you stay out? Got school or work in the morning?"

He cringed, slightly flustered by the close quarters of his companion. But he kept quiet nonetheless and only gave a curt nod to show he understood. He kept his powers on high alert as to keep the ice elemental in a comfortable situation. He could sort of understand. Of course, he had never met a cryomancer but he did know that he didn't like to be so hot and sweaty. And the thought made him think more on the subject of seasons. If this investigation took longer than he anticipated, then Alexander needed Carson more than he thought. When the winter went away, the cold would no longer stick around and would be replaced by warm showers and hot fog. It would be nearly impossible to continue the search. He felt himself swell with pride at the thought of being needed by anyone for any reason. He smirked and continued to work with the taller elemental in tow. He would occasionally glance over his shoulders to meet his eyes and quickly avert them when he felt his eyes gazing over him, calculating. He knew those stares all too well. But he knew they were only observing, not criticizing like he was used to back at home. He shook his head and continued on the sidewalk until he could see the neon glow of the small shop. It wasn't well known and it was obvious that their business wasn't at its best. Paint was worn and the tiles were stained with old spills of drinks and condiments form long ago. Everything was clean, but the look of stains put him on edge nonetheless. He stood just outside the door and waited patiently for Alexander to join him. Carson knew he was small and frail, more feminine than anything. He didn't care though. It didn't make him any less of a person and it wasn't like he was starving himself or anything. He ate perfectly well and never had any problems digesting or eating. He was just genetically small, nothing more, nothing less. Although, being small and rather weak left him vulnerable to infectious agents that caused him a lot of harm when he wasn't careful. This is one of the reasons he loves to stay clean and be with clean people. Got school or work in the morning? He shook his head. "No, I finished high school already and I don't plan on going to college. I was supposed to go to some university when I finished school but...let's just say I'm not too fond of school. I'm also unemployed so I can stay up as long as necessary." He voiced, holding open the door for Alexander.
